Description of Services

Swedish Massage:  Light, medium or firm pressure applied in a combination of kneading, rolling and sweeping movements, all flowing toward the heart are used to manipulate the soft-tissue of the body.  The many benefits of Swedish Massage may include generalized relaxation, release of muscle tension and knots and improved circulation.

Phenomenal Touch Massage®:  is a unique form that embraces the body three-dimensionally creating a heartfelt, masterful and effective dance of touch. Phenomenal Touch® unfolds the body organically meeting the client in a healing nurturing dance of reciprocity. It leaves the client with a profound sense of wholeness, release and relief from deeply held patterns of tension.

Shiatsu: The healing touch of acupressure increases circulation, stimulates the immune system, reduces tension and enables the body to relax deeply.  Shiatsu can be effective in helping relieve headaches, muscle aches, sinus problems, menstrual cramps, lower backaches, insomnia, constipation and indigestion.

Jin Shin Acupressure: A body/mind approach, performed on a fully clothed client, is a synthesis of traditional Japanese acupressure technique, classic Chinese acupuncture theory and Taoist yogic philosophy and breathing methods. It is a gentle art using formulas based on holding local points and distal points with light finger pressure along meridian lines. It is effective for relieving muscular tension and fatigue, headaches, stress, hormonal imbalances and digestive problems.

Craniosacral Therapy:  A deeply relaxing technique that enhances the body’s natural healing process using a light touch to assist the natural movement of fluid in the craniosacral system.  Tapping directly into a core system of the body, Craniosacral Therapy encourages the body’s natural healing mechanisms to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, dissipate the negative effects of stress and correct imbalances in the body. It is effective for relieving muscular tension, fatigue, chronic pain and migraines.

Lymphatic Drainage:  Lymph Drainage is a technique using a gentle soothing touch to stimulate the flow of lymphatic fluid through the body.  The lymph system is responsible for the filtration and elimination of toxins, antibody production and the transport and absorption of nutrients in the body Its many uses include strengthening the immune system, increasing circulation, reducing inflammation, spasms and chronic pain.  Lymphatic Drainage is a complimentary technique to chiropractic, osteopathic and sports medicine rehabilitation.

Reflexology: Reflexology is the manipulation of specific areas in the foot and hands that correspond to the anatomy and physiology of the body.  Similar to acupressure principles, application of pressure to reflex zones stimulates the organs and relieves areas of congestion.  Reflexology increases relaxation and stimulates circulation of blood and lymphatic fluids.

Fascial Bodywork:  Addresses restrictions in the fascial system that are causing asymmetries, postural malalignment, abnormal tensions, and pressures that can lead to pain and dysfunction. Applications of myofascial trigger points and gentle pressure in the direction of ease of the soft-tissue. This work is an effective therapeutic approach in the relief of cervical and back pain, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, neurological dysfunction, restriction of motion, chronic pain, and headaches. The goal of fascial mobilization is to produce a well-balanced, symmetrical and mobile body within the skeletal, soft-tissue and craniosacral system.
